On Monday, Henry Foster III was sworn in as the San Diego City Council District 4 Councilmember. I look forward to his leadership and collaboration in meeting the needs of District 4 residents and all San Diegans.  
KEY BUDGET PROPOSAL DATES
On Friday, Mayor Gloria will release his Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget, which you can find here. He then formally presents to City Council on April 22. I encourage San Diegans to make their voices heard at the Council’s Budget Review Committee hearings from May 1 to May 8. How to submit comments can be found here.
NOW HIRING: POOL GUARDS
🏊 The city is hiring year-round benefited pool guards. Guarding offers flexible hours around school and sports schedules and offers advancement opportunities. Apply online today, then attend training at Allied Gardens Pool from 8 am -12 pm on Saturday, April 27.
YOUTH V. OIL RESOLUTION PASSES COUNCIL
Our region’s youth climate action leaders driving the “Youth v. Oil” Resolution is inspirational—I am proud to continue voicing my support. With its unanimous passage, the City of San Diego stands with their movement to keep oil extraction sites out of communities. 
HIGH SCHOOL VOTERS—ARE YOU REGISTERED YET?
Calling all high San Diego high schoolers! Your vote is your voice, and we are in an election year 🗳️. Join the City of San Diego for the Shirley N. Weber Voter Registration Challenge. This month-long challenge encourages students ages 18 and older to vote and students ages 16 and 17 to pre-register, which will allow them to automatically become registered voters when they turn 18.
