[COLUMBUS] — Starting in December 2024, Columbus City Council began a series of public hearings to review and provide feedback on the City of Columbus' $1.23 Billion 2025 Operating Budget, which was proposed by Mayor Andrew Ginther late last year. The operating budget supports all City operations, such as the Divisions of Police and Fire, and other neighborhood services. Last year, committees were restructured to focus on Council's priorities.
At these hearings, directors and representatives from the departments that fall under the newly structured committees present their budget needs to the committee chairs. Following the hearings, City Council may amend the operating budget before voting on a final plan.
