Indianapolis City-County Council Business
Week of March 25th
The agendas for the City-County Council committee meetings for the upcoming week are linked here: COMMITTEE AGENDAS .

This is one of the slowest upcoming weeks I've seen during my time on the council: Two committee meetings have been cancelled due to the lack of pending business. The only committee to meet this week will look to approve annual board appointments, at a grant usage -- and consider a minor change to the Marion County Criminal Justice Planning Council composition.
A Million Dollar Surprise...
In a council committee meeting last Tuesday, there was rancor over the appropriation of funds for the purchase of new cars for city code inspectors. These vehicles were not included in our annual budget. IMO -- it's important that we pass an honestly balanced budget. Surprise appropriations like this one should be closely scrutinized.
Congratulations to INHP and Moira Carlstedt
In happier news...

Moira Carlstedt was honored last Wednesday with the John L. Krauss Award for Public Innovation for her work to increase home ownership and improve our housing stock in Indianapolis through our INHP program.
I joined Moira, the award's namesake, John Krauss (above center) former IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz and other Indy community leaders to recognize her great work.
Naturally, we gathered in the One America Tower -- in Indy's District 16!
Active neighborhoods and businesses across District 16

There were meetings in Fountain Square , Garfield Park , University Heights , The Valley this past week. SWAN and the Stadium Village Business Association also met.
This coming week... We Care, Carson Heights, Meridian Raymond and the Fountain Square Merchants will meet.
I get to about half of these meetings. Some are more interesting than others... but you can't help but learn about your City by attending these neighborhood meetings!
Last Week's Question:

Do you support the use of public dollars to fund an expansion of Indy's convention center?

45% Responded "Maybe"
"The devil's in the details"
35% "Yes" 15% "No"
This Week's Question:
Do you feel like the City is catching up on this year's pot hole season in District 16?
Yes
No
I'm listening...
