ST. LOUIS REGIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE FAIR
|
|
|
Health insurance is a vital part of our social safety net. More than just a resource to assist with medical issues we may currently face, insurance provides security in the event that we fall ill or face injury, including getting into situations that may leave us with long-term disabilities. It's all too easy to believe that we are immune to health complications when in reality our world can shift on a dime– and it’s all too often that people’s lives are totally upended due to lacking desperately needed resources in the most crucial moments of their lives.
Don’t let it happen to you – everyone is eligible to apply for accessible insurance this fall, and we’re working to make it as easy as possible for the St. Louis region at large! Health insurance doesn't have to be scary, so let us help you out!
This year, Maryland Heights will be hosting our first annual Health Insurance Enrollment Fair. This event is open to EVERYONE - not just Maryland Heights residents! At the event, volunteers from organizations throughout Eastern Missouri will assist St. Louis area residents looking to enroll in health insurance plans.
MARYLAND HEIGHTS MUNICIPAL COURTROOM
11911 DORSETT RD., MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO, 63043 SATURDAY, NOV. 19, 2022 | 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Affordable Care Act Marketplace (A.K.A. ObamaCare): Open Enrollment Nov. 1, 2022 - Jan. 15, 2023
- Open to EVERYONE
- Monthly premiums determined based on your income (meaning they’re affordable!) • A plan for every income!
- All plans require a YEARLY RE-ENROLLMENT to keep coverage (we can help!)
Who is the ACA Marketplace for?
Anyone that makes too much to qualify for MoHealthNet/Medicaid (earns more than $1500/month), is too young to qualify for Medicare (under 65 years old), and does not receive insurance through their employer is eligible for the ACA Marketplace. If you DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE, the ACA Marketplace is right for you! Don’t miss out - you can only sign up for insurance through the ACA Marketplace from Nov. 1-Jan 15, 2023. Sign up at healthcare.gov, or get help at our regional health insurance fair on Nov. 19th, 2022.
Medicare: Open Enrollment Oct. 15, 2022 - Dec. 7, 2022
- Insurance for those age 65 and older!
- SOME PLANS require a YEARLY RE-ENROLLMENT (check with your insurance company to see if this applies to you!)
- Different plans cover different services such as vision, dental, primary care, and more. Get help finding the best plan for you at the health fair!
MoHealthNet (Medicaid)
- Adults making under $1500 per month can apply for Medicaid for themselves and their immediate family unit.
- Medicaid provides specific plans for children; the elderly; blind and disabled people; and pregnant people.
-
Modified income eligibility for certain groups (visit marylandheights.com/insurancefair for more info).
- Unlike other options, Medicaid has no monthly premiums for most plans!
If you cannot make it to the health insurance fair and need assistance with getting or keeping health insurance, call our Community Social Worker, Claire, at 314-738-2233.
