Next Steps for the Strategic Roadmap Action Plan
|
|
The City of Mountain View strategic planning and visioning process will result in a strategic roadmap that describes a vision of where the City strives to be in the next 3-to-5 years. The roadmap will also include a multi-year work plan that charts a thoughtful and achievable path forward to accomplish the community’s highest priorities. Community engagement is an important part of the strategic planning process.
In May, the City's consultant will conduct a survey of the community to validate a draft strategic roadmap. To sign up to get notified about the survey and for latest updates, visit MountainView.gov/StrategicRoadmap.

The Housing Element is a policy document that prioritizes policies to improve housing availability for all. The project team is working on several tasks to prepare for the drafting of the document, which include:
- Analyzing the existing housing sites inventory.
- Assessing current and projected housing needs.
- Identifying citywide opportunities and constraints.
- Holding initial meetings with key stakeholder groups.
- Preparing for upcoming community outreach events, Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) updates and City Council meetings.
The California Department of Housing and Community Development requires cities to update their Housing Elements every eight years. The work for this update will cover the period of 2023-2031. The current Housing Element is available online.
City staff and their consultants are working on updating the Housing Element and recently debuted a project website. Visit MVHousingElement.org to learn more about the process, submit questions or comments and to sign up for email notifications to stay updated on community input opportunities.

There's still time to provide input by taking the survey in English or Spanish.

Extended Hours at Mountain View’s Vaccination Clinic through May 7
|
In partnership with the City, the County of Santa Clara has again extended the hours of operations for the Mountain View Community Center vaccination clinic by 90 minutes. The site will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through Friday, May 7. The last appointment will be scheduled for 6 p.m. The extended hours are due to the County receiving an increase in COVID-19 vaccine supply. To schedule a vaccine appointment, visit SCCFreeVax.org.
|
|
While more COVID-19 vaccines are available, only 38% of Santa Clara County residents have been fully vaccinated as of April 27. Let's continue to work together in overcoming this pandemic by masking up, keeping your distance, washing your hands frequently and getting vaccinated.
