Study Session on Parking Code Amendments
On June 12, the City Council and Planning Commission will hold a study session on the proposed changes to the parking regulations. The Planning Commission has spent a significant amount of time reviewing the recommendations of the former City-Wide Parking Committee and has developed recommendations to the City Council on numerous changes to the City’s parking rules. This study session will allow the City Council and Commission to meet face to face so that there is an opportunity to share thoughts and answer questions concerning the purpose behind the recommendations. If it is desired, an ordinance on the changes can be brought forward to the City Council at a future meeting at which time Council can consider making the changes a permanent part of the municipal code.

Document Storage – What Happens to all Those Plans
The Building Divisions is taking the lead to identify a new document management and storage system for the Community Development Department. Recently, the company that scanned and provided support for the software that allowed access and management of the Department’s scanned documents went out of business, so staff is in the process of identifying and seeking approval of an agreement with a new firm that will provide these services. Once the appropriate agreements are in place, the numerous plans and documents the Building Division has been collecting can be scanned and staff can continue its efforts of making room for the new documents that come in the door every day.

Commercial Office Building at 40 Main Street to be Considered by Planning Commission
A new three-story commercial office building will be reviewed by the Planning Commission at its meeting on June 7, 2018. This project was first considered by the Planning Commission at a meeting in June 2017. At this meeting the Commission referred the project to the applicant to address some design concerns and allow the applicant time to develop a plan to reconfigure Public Parking Plaza 10, which is directly behind the project site. The applicants have revised the design of the building and reduced its overall square footage. In addition, they will not be pursuing approvals to reconfigure Public Parking Plaza 10.
Police
Free Hands Only CPR/AED Training
Please join Santa Clara County Fire Department for a free Hands Only CPR/AED training on Wednesday, June 6 from 6 -7:30 p.m. at Hillview Community Center. In 2007, Congress passed a resolution to set aside June 1-7 each year as National CPR and AED Awareness Week to spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED.

Did you know about 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes? If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Hands Only CPR/AED training teaches participants how to perform high quality compressions on an adult and child, utilize an automatic external defibrillator (AED) and aid an adult or child who is choking. Please RSVP on Eventbrite.
