Emergency Preparedness: For Teens, By Teens
Teens teaching teens is a great way to make them aware of emergencies and what they should do if they are home alone. Join Girl Scouts Isha and Taylor on Saturday, October 26th, 11:00am - 11:30am at Garden House (Shoup Park) to better equip your teen for an emergency. Do you have younger children too? This event is a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring the whole family. Based on the Girl Scout Silver Award project, the workshop uses animation and interactive discussion to teach the curriculum. Registration link:

Fremont Avenue Rehabilitation Project Input
The City of Los Altos is planning on repaving Fremont Ave. between Grant Rd. and the City limit. During this project, we are reaching out to residents to gather feedback and ideas about potential pedestrian, bicyclist, or street improvements along Fremont. These improvements include street restriping, bicycle lanes, pedestrian pathways, and potentially more. We hosted an Open House this week and we have a survey that residents can use to inform and guide project designers. Please help us make a more resident-friendly avenue by providing your input. Visit us at

Street Sign Clearance
The Los Altos Maintenance Team wants to remind all Los Altos residents about keeping street signs clear of vegetation. It is every resident's obligation to trim and maintain any private trees, bushes, or shrubs on their property that are currently blocking any street signs. Residents should clear a significant perimeter around the signs to ensure that there is max visibility.
Keeping street signs clear help first responders identify streets faster and help motorists, bikers, and pedestrians stay safe. By having our residents trim their private trees, we can ensure that the community is safer as a whole. If you have any questions, contact Maintenance at
https://www.losaltosca.gov/maintenanceservicerequest
or
(650) 947-2785.
The City of Los Altos, the Maintenance Department, and the Police Department thank you for your help!
