April 27, 2018

AC has been bringin’ home the hardware recently, and at next Tuesday’s City Council meeting, we will be recognizing some pretty special accomplishments – please join us at 6:30 PM at City Hall.

First, we will celebrate Dr. Nichelini of American Canyon Orthodontics who recently received the “Champion of the Community Award of Excellence” from the California Parks and Recreation Society. This is the Society’s annual state-wide award for individuals who have “contributed significant effort to improve the quality of their community through parks and recreation.” Dr. Nichelini is a huge community supporter, and specifically, hugely supportive of our Parks and Recreation Department. Dr. Nichelini is known as “Dr. Snow” because he originally came up with the concept of the now hugely successful Snow Day Event each December. This is only one example of his generosity and his well-deserved title of a Champion in our Community.

Next, we will recognize Officer Bryan Schultz, who will be retiring from the American Canyon Police Department after 22 years. Officer Schultz is the Department’s longest-serving officer and also a veteran of the United States Army. We wish Bryan and his family well on their new endeavors.

Last, but not least, “Team AC” took First Place in the “Annual Battle of the Napa Valley” basketball tournament fundraiser benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley. It was a wonderful time to support a great cause. Please come and watch us defend our title next year!
