------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION
This memo is regarding substantial completion of the tenant improvements at the Helen Lawrence Building (South Offices) that were done with the subject project. This is for information only and no action is required.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Construction at the H. Lawrence Building began in early 2019 and is near completion as of this writing. Work included the construction of new office space for San Leandro Police staff, a physical training room and showers for use by all City staff, and a new community meeting room dedicated to former councilmember Surlene G. Grant.
The San Leandro Police Department (SLPD) have moved into the H. Lawrence Building during the weekend of April 17 & 18, and construction of tenant improvements at the first floor of the Police Building have commenced. The SLPD public lobby is currently in the Police Building; however, they will utilize the new lobby at the H. Lawrence Building 24/7 after they move-in.
