The Latest from Doug

As we embrace the long holiday weekend, I want to extend warm wishes and a reminder to soak in the magic of the season. This weekend presents a wonderful opportunity to finalize your holiday preparations, enjoy festive activities, and create lasting memories with loved ones.

City of Fayetteville Government offices will be closed on Dec. 25 and 26, as well as Jan. 1 to observe the Christmas and New Year Holidays. Additional schedules for the Police Department, Solid Waste Division, Fayetteville Regional Airport, Fayetteville Area System of Transit, and Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation can be found here. We want you to make the most of this joyful time while being aware of any adjustments to regular schedules.

Please stay healthy and safe during these celebrations. In the spirit of togetherness, let's continue to follow guidelines, stay vigilant, and take precautions to protect ourselves and those around us. The well-being of our residents is our top priority.

I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the festive decorations in Downtown Fayetteville and around our wonderful City. I hope you enjoy the Social District this last weekend before Christmas. May it be filled with laughter, warmth, and the joy that comes with the company of family and friends. I wish you all a safe, healthy, and truly festive holiday season!

Best,

Douglas J. Hewett
