The Latest from Doug
As spring approaches, I want to express my gratitude for our engaged community and our dedicated employees who make Fayetteville America’s Can Do City.
Fayetteville has much to be proud of, not the least of which is our collective efforts to make this a desirable place to live, work and play. It is our mission as a responsive City government to improve community wealth, access to services and resiliency through neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing development, economic incentives, and Federal grants.
Our Economic and Community Development Department held the first of four public meetings yesterday at Massey Hill Recreation Center to compile resident feedback on the Annual HUD Grant Action Plan. As City Manager, I appreciate the thoughtful feedback and participation from the residents we serve.
Resident insight and input will assist with designing the programs and services offered with the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds that the City will receive on behalf of low and moderate-income residents. In addition to CDBG funds, the plan also describes how the City intends to use HOME Investment Partnership and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS funds for the 2023 program year. Input will be compiled and submitted to the Fayetteville Redevelopment Commission, the Fayetteville City Council, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Public meeting schedule:
Residents that cannot attend any public meeting can submit written comments until March 19.
I encourage you to join us at one of the three remaining opportunities to share your opinions. May you and your loved ones enjoy the many events and amenities our great city has to offer. Have a great weekend!
Best,
Doug
