City Manager's Report

February 24, 2023 | FayettevilleNC.gov

The Latest from Doug

I want to start by thanking all of the residents who place the trust and confidence in the Fayetteville City Staff to do the hard work and planning which allows our City to function. We have some of the greatest employees in the state of North Carolina and I was joined by my management team on Friday to discuss all the projects they have been working on for our residents on WIDU.

We have so many projects still under construction which will benefit so many in our communities. For example, the Tennis Center, Day Center and Senior Center East which supports the City Council’s strategic goals were discussed. Our host was amazed at the astonishing amount of work taking place in the background to make these projects a reality. In my opinion, that is a testament to the quiet professionals we have working in the city.

I know that isn’t always the best way of doing business, so I will press upon my staff to do a better job of communicating all the projects we have taking place across our wonderful city.

I encourage everyone to visit the City’s website, visit our social media sites, and watch us on our streaming platforms to stay informed of all the services we provide.

Best,

Doug

This week, we celebrated employees who hit milestones with the City of Fayetteville at the Service Award Ceremony. It's impossible for us to serve our residents without those who are dedicated and willing to put in the work. Congrats to those who have reached their first 5-year milestone and those who have reached another milestone with the City!
