I invite you to continue to embrace Black History Month by embarking on a journey through time with The Legacy Loop Trolley Tour, a one-day-only special event in the Cool Spring Downtown District on Feb. 10, starting at 222 Hay Street. 

With trolley departures at 12:00, 1:00, and 2:00 p.m., this educational history tour dives deep into the rich narrative of Black Fayetteville in the 1970s. Curated in partnership with esteemed local historian and archivist, Nicholle Young St. Leone, and led by Fayetteville State University Professor Charles Anderson, the tour promises an enlightening exploration of the area's cultural and historical significance. 

This weekend, treat your special someone to an unforgettable experience with a private carriage ride through the picturesque Cool Spring Downtown District. The "Be My Valentine" Carriage Rides, available on Saturday, Feb.10, from 1 to 9 p.m., offer a unique and romantic way to celebrate your love. At $75 per ticket, it's an excellent opportunity to create lasting memories with your loved one, making this Valentine's Day truly memorable.

Another way to explore downtown is with the District Trolley, running every weekend to enhance your exploration of this vibrant area. If you are enjoying the Downtown Social District on Saturdays from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. or shopping local on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the trolley offers a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation to see the sights and soak in the atmosphere. Hop on at the best stop located at the Cool Spring Downtown District office at 222 Hay Street.

FCHR scholarship applications available to local high school students

The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission (FCHRC) is accepting scholarship applications from Cumberland County high school seniors until March 28. High school, private school and home school graduating seniors seeking financial assistance towards attending a two or four-year college or university are encouraged to apply.  MORE
