The Latest from Doug

I hope this week’s message finds you in good health and high spirits! I want to again take this opportunity to highlight some incredible opportunities to actively participate in shaping the future of our beloved city.

Boards and commissions play a vital role in this community by providing essential input and recommendations on various issues that impact Fayetteville's continued growth and development. These volunteer positions offer you the chance to lend your unique perspective and expertise, making a real difference in the decisions that shape our City's present and future.

By joining a board or commission, you can have a voice representing the interests and concerns of your fellow residents and neighbors. Whether you have a passion for the environment, education, public safety, planning and zoning or any other aspect of city life, there is likely a place for you to contribute your valuable insights.

Why should you apply? Volunteering on a board or commission is a fantastic way to engage with your community and emphasize what our City needs to your elected City officials and leadership. As a member, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other dedicated individuals, including community leaders and experts in various fields. It's a chance to make lasting connections, expand your network and be a driving force behind positive change for Fayetteville.

Apply at FayettevilleNC.gov/Boards by July 31 and together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant city that reflects the aspirations of all our residents.

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to stay cool and hydrated as temperatures are expected to remain high over the weekend and next week.

Best,

Doug
