The Latest from Doug

I want to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we've been on and the exciting future that lies ahead for our beloved downtown and greater Fayetteville area.

The synergy between the City of Fayetteville, Cool Spring Downtown District, the Greater Fayetteville Chamber, and DistiNCtly Fayetteville sets the stage for an unprecedented era of prosperity and connectivity. Together, we are not just building a destination; we are crafting a vibrant ecosystem where arts, culture, business, and community flourish.

The Cool Spring Downtown District has been at the forefront of transforming downtown Fayetteville into a dynamic hub of arts, culture, civic life, and commerce. This district has become a destination for those seeking the vibrancy of over 100 businesses, award-winning dining experiences, and nationally acclaimed museums. Our community's dedication and vision have fueled over $150 million in public and private investments in just two years. I’m so proud of the Cool Springs Team and appreciative of you for continuing to visit our Historic Downtown.

Although, our community’s journey is intertwined with the rich history and evolution of the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce as well. The Chamber has remained a steadfast advocate for a robust business community in Cumberland County. They underscore our collective commitment to fostering a healthy business environment and providing valuable services to their members through strong, collaborative partnerships.

But we need to continue to look to the future, our vision is clear and DistiNCtly Fayetteville aims to position Fayetteville and Cumberland County as the premier destination for conventions, tournaments, and individual travelers. By supporting and marketing our unique visitor experiences and advocating for the benefits of community tourism, they are dedicated to establishing Fayetteville as the leading destination authority.

As we continue this journey, I am filled with gratitude for the support and passion of each individual and organization contributing to our collective success. Let us embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with the same spirit of collaboration and innovation that has brought us this far.

Thank you for being an integral part of our vibrant community. Here's to the continued growth and success of downtown Fayetteville and beyond.

Best,

Douglas J. Hewett
