The Latest from Doug
I want to start by thanking the efforts of the Cool Spring Downtown District and our Parks and Recreation in decorating the Historical Downtown area and the Market House into a winter wonderland. Adorned with vibrant ribbons, festive garlands and other décor suitable for photo ops, our downtown becomes a symbol of joy and unity for our community.
The holiday decorations not only bring a sense of warmth and nostalgia but also serve as a visual reminder of the rich history we share. As we begin to gather to celebrate the season, let our downtown area stand as a beacon of holiday cheer, inviting residents and visitors alike to revel in the magic of this special time of year. You will have ample time to enjoy the décor and festivities in the coming weeks.
I join our City Council in expressing to you that maintaining the cleanliness of our city is paramount for fostering a thriving community and making Fayetteville the best place to work, live and recreate. A clean city not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also promotes public health, safety, and overall well-being.
By actively participating in efforts to keep our streets, parks, and public spaces clean, we contribute to the creation of a positive environment that residents, businesses, and visitors can all take pride in. We have several opportunities to participate keeping your City clean like Fayetteville Beautiful and other recycling opportunities. You may have even seen our crews doing our part throughout town. A clean city reflects a collective commitment to civic responsibility, sustainability, and the preservation of our shared spaces.
Thank you for all you do for our community. Stay safe this weekend as we prepare our plans for the upcoming long weekend.
Best,
Douglas J. Hewett
