The Latest from Doug

There are so many great things have already happened in October and we still have a couple weeks to go.

I encourage everyone to go out and enjoy the festivities at the Fayetteville Dogwood Fall Festival this weekend at Festival Park. Hayrides will be available, you will be able to explore diverse vendors, savor delights from food trucks, and groove to live entertainment. The festival promises family fun, arts, and the beautiful fall season.

If you have time on Saturday, you can enjoy an adrenaline-pumping evening as our Fayetteville Marksmen hit the ice at 6 p.m. Let's pack the arena and show our Marksmen pride! Children under 2 get in free!

I love that our own Fayetteville Technical Community College's Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting departments are so supportive of our residents. They are hosting a Youth Dental Health Fair this Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your little ones for free dental screenings, educational presentations, and prizes. The event is sponsored by the United Way's Youth Growth Stock Trust, Crest, and Oral-B. You can call 910-678-8552 or email jonesj@faytechcc.edu if you have any additional questions.

This weekend you have an opportunity to celebrate your Bronco spirit during the Fayetteville State Homecoming Parade. This time-honored tradition is a vibrant showcase of pride and unity. Help them pay tribute to their remarkable history, embrace the dynamic present, and pave the way for a future filled with endless possibilities. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

October continues to be full of thrills throughout Fayetteville, and I really enjoy sharing these opportunities with you. Let's come together, celebrate our community, and make October a month to remember!

Doug
