San Leandro City Council, Residents, and City Employees –

I hope you have enjoyed the City Manager’s Weekly Update. As part of the City’s ongoing efforts to streamline its services, beginning the first week of February, the content found in this publication will be expanded, while also transitioning to a monthly distribution schedule. Rest assured, the same types of great news and announcements will continue to be provided. For the more frequent daily and weekly updates, I encourage you to follow the City’s social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn Nextdoor, Twitter.

At the Tuesday, January 19th meeting, the City Council honored Miraglia’s Catering for operating their business in San Leandro for nearly three-quarters of a century. Unfortunately, their business closed earlier this year as a result of the pandemic. Additionally, newly appointed or re-appointed commissioners participated in a swearing-in ceremony. I wish the commissioners well as they volunteer their time in service to our community. The list of commissioners who were appointed can be found on Meeting Central.

Members of the City Council committees and intergovernmental agency assignments were also selected during Tuesday’s meeting. Related details can also be found on Meeting Central.

Finally, the City Council voted unanimously to direct staff to proceed forward with another phase of grants to support local businesses that have been impacted by the pandemic. Additional information regarding the application process for the $400,000 in funding that is anticipated through this important program will soon be posted on the City's website.
Sincerely,

Fran Robustelli, Interim City Manager
