Presidential Primary Election Info
All voters can vote in the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election.  But did you know that your registered political party determines the Presidential candidates that appear on your ballot?

If you're registered to vote, you've likely received your Sample Ballot by now. Page 6 of the Sample Ballot has a page titled, Guide to Party-Nominated Primary.

The main point is is that if you're registered with a political party but want a ballot from a different party, you must re-register

To do so, go to www.registertovote.ca.gov and click on the "Register to Vote Now" button, or pick up a Voter Registration Card at City Hall, the Library, or Post Office.  The deadline to re-register online or by mail is midnight of Tuesday, February 18th.

You may also re-register at any Vote Center through Election Day. Brisbane City Hall's Council Chambers will be transformed into a County Vote Center starting Saturday, February 29th through Election Day, Tuesday, March 3rd.

A Ballot Drop Box is also available in the lobby of City Hall, where you'll be able to drop your mail-in ballot during City Hall's regular hours of operation -- M, Tu, Th: 8-5, W: 8-8, F: 8-1.

Resource for Reporting Jet Noise to SFO
Did you know there is an easy way to report jet noise to the SFO Noise Abatement Office? Official disturbance reports are the only proof that our elected officials have that something is wrong. Give them that proof. And tell your neighbors - the number of affected households is as important as the overall number of reports. One report a month from a new person makes a huge difference! Visit stop.jetnoise.net to start reporting today. (If you're using an Android device, select "Add To Home Screen" after you’ve logged in in order to place an app button right where you need it.)

Safety Upgrades to Fire Hydrants
“Life is a Dance” hydrant by BDW, located at San Bruno @ Mariposa.
Over the next 6 months, Public Works will be upgrading the visibility of all 246 of the City’s fire hydrants, and color-coding the hydrants so that responding fire engines know the hydrants' flow capacity. As shown in the photos, each hydrant will have a reflective color-coded marker placed behind the cap on the large (“pumper”) outlet. In these photos, the blue marker indicates both hydrants are connected to water zones capable of providing more than 1,500 gallons per minute of flow.

For each of the City's 54 painted hydrants - that are also connected to the City's water system - a tall, reflective flag will be attached to the smaller (“hose”) nozzle. This will allow the hydrants to be quickly located during low visibility, and will allow the continued painting of hydrants with non-reflective paint while still providing quick location identification for our firefighters and those assisting from other cities during times of mutual aid.

Have you ever wanted to paint or restore one of Brisbane’s fire hydrants? The Parks and Recreation Department organizes a Fire Hydrant Painting & Restoration Weekend every two years, usually in the springtime. The next one is coming up next year, in 2021. So keep that period in mind and be sure to sign up early when registration opens – they go fast! Thank you for all that have lent your artistic talents to bring these hydrants to whimsical life!
