Shop MERRY MARKET, City Market’s all-local holiday gift fair, every Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 17. Find the most unique gifts and support our local economy while you do it!

MERRY MARKET is open-air and curated by ART GARDEN KC featuring more than 75 local artisans with handmade products. A different selection of vendors will be featured each weekend. Admission is FREE. All ages are welcome.

KC Women's Chorus, our annual crowd pleasers, will perform Saturday, 11-2.

The Leiszler Brothers, Harrison (14) & Bennett (11), will play Sunday, 10-12 to raise funds for Toys For Tots.

• See KC in sugar & spice at GingerBread Lane in the paddle wheel atrium at the Steamboat Arabia Museum open daily 10-4, Sundays 12-4.
• The KC Public Library Book Mobile will roll in with free books and giveaways.

Experience a Cuban holiday tradition with this mouthwatering shortcut version of Lechon Asado. Marinated and then slow roasted, this show-stopping pork roast makes a festive centerpiece for your holiday meal, and the leftovers make great sandwiches!

Ingredients

1 6-7 lb. boneless pork shoulder roast – available at Local Pig

1 bottle (24.5 oz.) GOYA® Mojo Criollo Marinade – available at Crossland International Market

2 tbsp. minced garlic 1 tbsp. – available at Global Produce

Adobo seasoning with pepper – available at Tikka House

Oranges and fresh cilantro for garnish – available at Cristina’s Produce

Directions

In large resealable container or bowl, combine pork shoulder, marinade and garlic; cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.

Preheat oven to 425ºF. Remove pork shoulder from marinade; season all over with Adobo seasoning. Place fat side up in roasting pan fitted with rack.

Cook in lower third of oven for 30 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325°F. Roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a thermometer inserted in center reads 160°F.

Tent loosely with foil; let stand for 20 minutes. Slice and serve with drizzle of pan juices. Garnish platter with orange slices and cilantro.
