Local Situation Improving
|
On 3/8/21, the County reported 307 new positive COVID cases. The 14-day average of positive cases among those tested is 3.2%. To keep our community safe and healthy, please continue to take precautions with face coverings in public, extra hand washing, isolating and getting tested if you have symptoms.

More Vaccination Priority Groups Open March 15
|
Beginning March 15, and subject to availability, people ages 16-64 who are deemed to be at the very highest risk for morbidity and mortality from COVID-19 due to certain conditions may begin to be vaccinated. Details

Vaccination Site Information
|
The County continues to open more vaccination locations. In addition to the Oceanside site in Ocean Ranch, and Tri-City Medical Center, locations have opened in Vista, Carlsbad, and San Marcos. The San Marcos site is dedicated solely to vaccinating seniors; seniors can make an appointment there by calling 211. Some pharmacies and clinics are also receiving vaccines. Active Duty Military and Veterans 75+ may be vaccinated at the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton.

SD County Heading Toward the Red Tier
|
Although the situation is quickly improving, San Diego County is still in the "widespread" Purple Tier, chiefly due to case rates. The state updates the Tier assignments each week. With sustained efforts on everyone's part, we can get to the less restrictive Red Tier very soon, which will mean modified indoor dining, indoor museums, and indoor gym availability.

More Small Business Grants
|
New funding rounds were announced in the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program. Round 3 is available to waitlisted businesses from Rounds 1 & 2. Round 4 will be for nonprofit cultural institutions. Two more rounds to follow. Visit the website for application and info.

Emergency Rent Assistance Program
|
The County’s 2021 Emergency Rental Assistance Program helps eligible households who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities. Financial assistance for arrears can be from April 2020 to March 2021, up to twelve months. The application period will remain open through March 16, 2021. Learn more

An amended final version of the American Relief Plan is expected to pass this week, which will provide a stimulus payment to many Americans, extend extra jobless aid for millions of unemployed people, fund safe school reopening, and expand the Child Tax Credit for low-income households.
