Oceanside Public Library invites unemployed, furloughed or employed part-time workers to register for a free Coursera account through Coursera for Workforce Recovery by emailing

learning platform. Coursera for Workforce Recovery is administered through the
Oceanside Public Library
and made available by Coursera in response to COVID-19.
Coursera for Workforce Recovery
is a program which seeks to serve those developing their skills to best re-enter the workforce. Currently, these programs are available for a six-month period in which learners can develop or hone skills such as Business English, Data Analytics/Business Analysis, Computer Programming, Contact Tracing, Digital Literacy, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) exam preparation, Entrepreneurship, Language Learning, Marketing, IT Support, Personal Development, Software or App Development, Project Management, Web Design and much more.
Interested individuals are invited to create an account with the library and then will be given the option to self-enroll in 40 curated collections of courses or view and enroll in any of the 3000+ course offerings from universities across the globe. Courses vary in length and can be completed at the pace of the individual learner and are to be completed fully online. All courses provide an overview of the course including language of instruction, anticipated length of time to complete and a syllabus detailing the learning plan. Most courses include video lectures and quizzes or other applications of learning such as projects. Intermediate computer skills are required for Coursera courses. Course selection guidance is available. New users may join the Coursera platform through September 30, 2020 and will have until December 31, 2020 to complete their courses.
