A Message from the City Manager | |
Greetings –
The City of Temecula wishes you and your family an enjoyable 4th of July holiday this Friday. As usual, Temecula has a fantastic line-up of activities to help you celebrate Independence Day.
In the morning, enjoy a hometown 4th of July Parade filled with parade marchers, local bands, and patriotic entries along Temecula's Old Town Front Street, starting at 10am.
In the afternoon, head over to the Family Fun festivities at Ronald Reagan Sports Park from 2-10pm with live music, vendors, and a kid's zone.
When night falls, watch professionally launched fireworks from two Temecula locations:
1) The City of Temecula’s Firework Extravaganza, at the Ronald Reagan Sports Park, starts at 9pm with live simulcast on KATY 101.3 FM radio.
2) The Pechanga Resort Casino’s 22-minute Firework Extravaganza, starts at 9pm with live simulcast on Q103.3 FM radio.
For more information about the City of Temecula’s parade, park festivities, and firework display, visit our 4th of July Temecula webpage.
Happy 4th of July!
Aaron Adams,
City Manager

It is well-stated by our firefighters to “keep your cause for celebration from causing a wildfire.”
Reminder: Fireworks are illegal in the City of Temecula, neighboring cities, and in the unincorporated areas of Riverside County primarily because we are within, and surrounded by, high and very high fire hazard severity zones where vegetation is dry and fireworks easily ignite fires. As you celebrate the 4th of July, please consider the following:
- Fires and Wildfires:
-
Illegal 4th of July fireworks cause more fires in the U.S. than all other causes combined.
- Significant Injuries:
- In 2024, an estimated 14,700 people were treated in emergency rooms for firework injuries in the United States with many devastating injuries including vision loss and amputations. Additionally, there were 11 reported deaths. Sparklers, despite appearing harmless, can burn at temperatures hot enough to melt metals.
- Impact on our neighbors, pets and horses:
- We can prepare for the scheduled professional firework shows at 9pm; but unexpected firework explosions are difficult for individuals including some military members and veterans who have served our Country in combat and live in Temecula.
-
The unexpected loud noises and bright lights of fireworks are distressing to our equestrian community, and to pets in general. Startling statistics indicate that more pets go missing July 4th than any other time of year, and many are never found again.
IMPORTANT: Individuals who cause fires by using illegal fireworks may be held responsible for all fire suppression costs. These costs can run into the millions of dollars if it is the cause of a wildfire and/or structure damage. Parents are liable for their minor children.
