Celebrate Juneteenth Across

Santa Barbara County

Juneteenth Santa Barbara is a local celebration of the national recognition of Black Independence Day. It is a collaborative effort to showcase Black culture, talent, and joy in the County. The annual Juneteenth Block Party is back! Nourishing the People Block Party will take place on Sunday, June 18 in the 200 block of Grey Avenue. This event is sponsored by the City. Celebrate Juneteenth from Friday, June 16, through Friday, June 23 with events throughout the County.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:

Paving Projects on Micheltorena and Mission Streets


The City's Street Operations Production Paving Crew will be paving West Mission Street Monday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 13. Paving will also be completed on West Micheltorena Street Wednesday, June 14 and Thursday, June 15. The streets will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for paving. SBA Named One of America's Most Charming Airports


NerdWallet recently named the Santa Barbara Airport as one of America's most charming airports. The list, consisting of nine airports across the U.S., ranked SBA as number six. These airports were chosen for several reasons, including "unbeatable views, unique amenities, charming atmosphere — or a combination of it all."

Traffic Circulation Changes at Micheltorena Street and Almond/ Dutton Avenues


As part of the Westside Community Paseos Project, a new median island was installed at the intersection of Micheltorena Street and Almond/ Dutton Avenues to address congestion and safety issues. Also completed is new lighting, and a new crosswalk with pedestrian activated flashers. Paving in the area continues this week.
