Water Outlook Remains Good as Council Declares Stage Two Water Shortage Alert
City Council declared a Stage Two Water Shortage Alert Tuesday in response to statewide requirements for additional action during the statewide drought. This action results in common sense water use regulations to encourage water conservation. Due to the the efficient practices already adopted by residents and businesses in the City, and with our long-term investment in a diversified water supply, Santa Barbara’s water outlook is good, even if extremely dry conditions persist.

Preserving Black Legacies- African American Historic Context Statement

The City has developed a Draft Santa Barbara African American and Black Historic Context Statement that explores the themes, events, people, and places important to the African American and Black community in Santa Barbara. The goal is to further recognize and understand the history and contributions of the African American and Black community to the City and identify landmarks and sites of significance. Eastside Neighborhood Park Indigenous Murals Blessing Ceremony

The City Parks and Recreation Department will host a blessing at Eastside Neighborhood Park (118 N. Soledad Street) of Los Voladores de Papantla, a newly created mural, as well as three recently re-envisioned murals by local artist and muralist Miguel Rodriguez. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 21 and the community is encouraged to attend the mural blessing ceremony, paying homage to pre-Columbian people.

Celebrate your new bundle of joy on Saturday, June 25 at the Central Library. Connect with community organizations and resources, and chat with Library staff about the benefits of Baby & Me storytime. Learn how to support your baby's health, development, and early literacy needs. A number of local organizations will be on hand to share resources and the first 50 participants will receive a free goody bag.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE – Water Main Replacement on La Colina Road

The City is anticipated to start replacing aging water main infrastructure on La Colina Road this week. This includes piping, valves, and hydrants, in order to maintain the quality and reliability of water service. Work is expected to last around three months from La Colina Road to Verano Drive and North La Cumbre Road. You will receive a detailed notice at your residence one day in advance of a proposed service interruption.
