38th Annual Parade of Lights 

On Sunday, December 8, come enjoy one of Santa Barbara's signature holiday events - the 38th Annual Parade of Lights! All events activities are FREE! Beginning at 3 p.m., families can visit a Winter Wonderland on the City Pier in the Harbor. There will be holiday elves, 10 tons of snow, goodie bags, and a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus!

City Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City has received an award for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2023. This is the 36th year the City has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

Street sweeping and related parking enforcement will be canceled on Thanksgiving and the day after. The regular sweeping schedule and enforcement will resume on Monday, December 2. There will be no schedule shift to the next day or make-up days.

MarBorg Service Delays for trash pickup, recycling and yard waste on Thanksgiving will be delayed one day. For example, if your regular scheduled service day is Thursday, your service day will be Friday, and so on. A reminder e-mail will be sent to residential customers prior to each holiday.

Road Closure for Eastbound Traffic at the Cabrillo and Los Patos Roundabout


As part of the Cabrillo and Los Patos Roundabout Project, drainage and paving work will require the temporary closure of eastbound traffic on Cabrillo Boulevard at the Roundabout from December 3 to December 4. While Los Patos Way and Channel Drive will remain open, some traffic delays are expected. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue improving our community’s infrastructure.

  • Arrive at least two hours before your flight, especially during peak travel times.
  • NEW: Check ahead online for real-time parking availability! The short-term and long-term lots fill up fast, but the economy lot is available with 24/7 shuttle service.
  • Check directly with your airline for up-to-date flight status.
  • Make sure gifts are unwrapped or in a gift bag that TSA can easily inspect.
