Expansion of Outdoor Dining on Private Property


Starting January 1, 2024, the temporary use of private property for outdoor dining, granted to many local businesses, will need to be permitted. Outdoor dining on private property typically occurs in private parking lots or in other areas not previously permitted for outdoor dining use. To keep this expanded outdoor dining on private property permanently, businesses will need to submit a Preliminary Application by the December 20, 2023 deadline.

Registration Open for Fall and Winter Camps


Registration is now open for fall and winter camps, offered through the Parks and Recreation Department. Youth can spend their breaks from school connecting with new friends, staying active, and engaging in a new or familiar sport. Camps will run during Thanksgiving week, holiday break, and New Year's week. Camp options are available for youth ages 4-17, and spaces are open on a first-come-first-served basis.

Community Development Block Grant Application Workshop And Proposal Request


Starting November 2, the City is accepting proposals for its 2024-2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs, with around $600,000 available for local non-profits. These grants support community projects like rehabilitation, infrastructure upgrades, and economic development for low-income residents. In order to apply, you must attend a mandatory CDBG Capital Application Workshop on Thursday, November 9.

Construction Notice: Wastewater Main Rehabilitation Project


The City is rehabilitating aging sewer pipe infrastructure throughout various locations in Santa Barbara. The week of October 30, contractors will work from street manholes using trenchless methods to line sewer mains on the following blocks: 300 South Salinas Street, 1400 Lou Dillon Lane, 1300 and 1900 Anacapa Street, 500 Ninos Drive, 1000 Cacique Street, and 600 De La Vina Street. Any odors generated are safe and non-toxic.
