Coffee with a Cop is Back September 12

As a way for the community to get to know local law enforcement better in a casual atmosphere, the Police Department is set to host another installment of Coffee with a Cop. Join us on Tuesday, September 12 at the Eastside Library. Officers will be on the Library's Eastside Patio starting at 9:30 a.m. Come with some questions or just get to know your SBPD Officers better.

Creek Week is an annual celebration of our creeks, watersheds, and the ocean, with fun and informative events, talks, and tours to help build awareness and stewardship of the natural treasures in the City, Goleta, and Carpinteria. The week-long celebration kicks off with our annual Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 23.

Library Set to Host State Street Job Fair on September 27



The Santa Barbara Public Library invites job seekers to the 700 and 800 blocks of State Street on Wednesday, September 27. Connect with over 100 employers actively seeking hardworking individuals to fill immediate openings. During the event, participants can enjoy complimentary food and drinks (on a first-come, first-served basis) and have a chance to win a $25 gas card.

A group of painters all in white, work on Skater's Point

Local Businesses Donate Time and Supplies to Skater's Point Skatepark 



Skater’s Point on Cabrillo Boulevard has been refreshed, thanks to the generosity of local painting companies. Recently, a group of professional painters from 10 local businesses partnered with the Parks and Recreation Department to give the walls of the 14,600-square-foot skatepark two fresh coats of paint. Sherwin-Williams coordinated the community service project and provided all supplies.

Water Wise Garden Recognition Contest Winner Announced


Sharyn Alexander was recognized as the 2023 winner for her vibrant garden. Sharyn and her husband, Clifton, began their landscape transformation seven years ago. Together, they overcame obstacles ranging from sandy soil and creative gophers to learning about irrigation systems and planting zones. The metamorphosis of a once “one-dimensional” garden into an eye-catching explosion of colors and textures became a therapeutic familial pass time.
