Belleview Estates Island Undergrounding Project

The subaqueous cable has been installed across Goat Head Canal parallel to the 22nd St Bridge. Final connection will be made in May to complete the project.
7th and 8th Street Drainage Improvement Project

The 7th and 8th Street stormwater project is currently in the design and engineering phase. This project includes replacing curbs inlets with in-ground grates, laying larger pipe while disconnecting from the County system and installing a new outfall with check valve to prevent backflow of water on streets at high tides.
Improvements Underway

Public Works staff members Rynell Gentry and Grady Wright have utilized the park closure period to enhance park amenities. Projects included cleaning and painting the picnic shelter, restrooms, beach showers and parking lots.
Street Surveying

As one of this year's City Council Strategic Plan Goals, the Public Works staff is creating a pavement condition index for all City streets. International Roughness Index values and Pavement Condition Index surveys are being processed to give a data driven explanation of the City's resurfacing needs.
2020 Hurricane Symposium

The tentative date is now June 17th. Details will be confirmed at a later date.
Sea Turtle Season

Sea turtle nesting season extends from May 1st through October 31st. Plan on seeing the Clearwater Marine Aquarium teams identifying and monitoring nests. For more information, see web page below.

Code Enforcement

Code enforcement duties have been contracted to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff will provide up to 15 hours per week of code enforcement duties in the City. Please call (727) 595-4646 for any code enforcement concerns.
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Classes

The class fee is $40 and includes the student manual, final exam and instruction. For more information on registration and payment options, see web page below.
