The City of Robinson currently operates two pole mounted outdoor warning sirens that have served our community for many years. However, both units have become unreliable and are in need of replacement due to parts being obsolete. The total cost to replace is
estimated to be around $190,924.61. At the October 21st City Council meeting, staff presented information regarding the condition
and replacement costs of the sirens. Council is currently reviewing the information and evaluating options for how to move forward. Find out more about what was discussed by watching the recorded YouTube livestream of the October 21st City Council meeting starting at 1:17:45.

Sign up today! It only takes a few minutes and ensures you stay in the know about what’s happening in Robinson.
With major street and infrastructure projects scheduled to begin next year, staying connected through this system will help residents plan ahead and stay informed.

As we approach Thanksgiving, many of us are excited to gather with loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal. While the focus is often on the food, it’s essential to prioritize safety in the kitchen. Here are some key cooking safety tips to ensure your holiday celebration is both enjoyable and hazard-free.
Don’t Pour Grease Down The Drain
While it might seem convenient to dispose of leftover cooking oils and fats this way, doing so can lead to significant plumbing issues. Grease can solidify as it cools, creating stubborn clogs in your pipes that could result in costly repairs and an unpleasant mess. Instead of sending grease down the drain, let it cool and then transfer it to a sturdy container. You can throw it away or, if you’re feeling eco-friendly, consider composting it!
Keep Kids and Pets Safe
While cooking can be a family affair, it’s important to establish a safe environment. Keep children and pets out of the kitchen while you’re cooking to prevent accidents and spills. Designate a separate area for them to play or help with simple tasks that don’t involve sharp objects or hot surfaces. It is also a good idea to keep pan handles turned towards the back of the stove to prevent people from bumping into it and causing a problem.
Stay Attentive
Never leave cooking food unattended, especially on the stovetop or in the oven. Set timers to remind you when dishes need checking, and be proactive in monitoring cooking times. Keeping your focus will help prevent accidents and ensure that every dish turns out perfectly.
