Hello NRFC Families,
We are writing today to acknowledge and address the frustrations we’ve heard from parents and coaches surrounding field access this fall.
As you have probably seen over the past few weeks, there are more clubs, leagues and university teams than ever before using City Park. With so many different organizations on the fields, some teams have had unexpected and last-minute field switches. In a few isolated cases, coaches have arrived at their assigned field to be told they’re not on the schedule at all. Please know that we have addressed this directly with County and New Rochelle field organizers. They are always excellent partners to our organization, and together, we are committed to minimizing disruptions for our players and coaches.
We’re extremely grateful to the City Park team for always ensuring all 20 teams in our organization have adequate access to what is truly the best outdoor soccer complex in lower Westchester. The quality of the facility is just one important element; practicing under the lights is a special experience, especially for our younger or new players. Our partners at the complex also always do their best to accommodate our requests for prime-time practice slots, and frequently accommodate individual team requests for last-minute time changes.
The teams in our club aren’t the only teams occasionally requesting practice time shifts. This means some continued flexibility may be required, as some practices may be relocated on short notice within the City Park complex. We ask that parents please be on the lookout for coach/manager communications in TeamSnap. Our teams will always have access to field space within the complex.
Please let us know if you have any questions at
