PROS Plan open houses and community survey: Share your input on Marysville's parks and programs

The City of Marysville is updating its Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan, and we want to hear from you! Share what you value most about our parks, trails, open spaces and recreation programs, along with your ideas for future improvements.

Join us for one of two free community open houses:

  • In person: Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Marysville Community Center.
  • Virtual: Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. Register online to receive the meeting link.

Both events are free and open to all. You can also share your feedback by taking the community survey by Nov. 6 at marysvillewa.gov/PROS, where you can learn more about the plan.

Bundle up our community

As temperatures drop, the Marysville Police Officers Association is asking the community to help keep local families warm through its annual coat drive. Once again, MPOA is partnering with the Marysville Community Food Bank & Toy Store to help keep local children and teens warm this winter.

Residents are invited to donate new coats, hats and gloves in all sizes during collection events from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 at Kohl's in Marysville, 3713 116th St. NE.

The annual coat drive helps provide essential winter clothing to neighbors in need throughout the community. Every year, community members generously answer the call, helping make a meaningful difference for those facing winter without warm clothing.

Your generosity during last year's coat drive will helped keep hundreds of families warm. Together, we can help our neighbors stay warm this winter.

All participants will be awarded a medal and ribbons will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each age division.

Registration closes at noon on Monday, Nov. 23. No race-day registration will be available, so participants are encouraged to sign up before the deadline.

Thank you for joining the Mayor's October Coffee Klatch

The city extends its gratitude to everyone who joined Mayor Jon Nehring for the October Coffee Klatch, both in person and online. The event provided a valuable opportunity for community members to ask questions, share perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations about issues that matter to you the most.

A special thank you goes to the Lakewood School District for hosting the event and warmly welcoming attendees. The district's involvement helped create an inviting space for open dialogue and community connection. Mayor Nehring looks forward to continuing these conversations and hearing from even more community members at future events.

The community is invited to the annual Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St. The free event welcomes local veterans, active-duty service members, their families and friends, and all residents who wish to show appreciation for those who have served. Complimentary coffee and light snacks will be provided. Register in advance here.

On Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join the American Legion Post 178, 119 Cedar Ave., for a program honoring Veterans and their families. Following the event the legion will host a free lunch. The legion will be accepting non-perishable food items for the Marysville Food Pantry.

On October 26, the city issued a Military Family Appreciation Month proclamation to honor the strength and resilience of families who support their loved ones in uniform. The proclamation is available here. In observance of Veterans Day, Marysville city offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11.
