  • Encourage people to tour our school!
  • As a way to thank you for referring another student who enrolls and attends for at least 90 days, you will receive a free month of tuition!! Information regarding this was placed in parent files a few weeks ago. Stop by the office with questions.

Last Day to Claim Free Tickets for GALA
Last Day to Get GALA Tickets at Discounted Price
Remember: Each family will receive one Gala reservation per student they registered at City Tree (one student = one ticket, two students = two tickets, etc). This means your family gets at least one ticket that is already paid for, WOW! Register by clicking the button above. Tickets must be claimed no later than Friday, February 22, after which they will be forfeited!
  • Pre-Sale Discount: If you wish to purchase additional ticket, tickets are $65.00 each. Ticket prices increase to $75.00 after Friday, February 22. Last day to purchase tickets is Friday, March 1. Purchase additional tickets by clicking the button above.
  • Babysitting is available at the City Tree Campus: $20.00 first child, $30.00 per family, & a supplemental $20 fee for children under 2 years old. Childcare must be reserved in advance. Reserve and pay for childcare by clicking the button above.
  • Your Gala reservation is NOT A PHYSICAL TICKET, it is a GUEST LIST!
  • Don't forget: You earn K-8 Family Participation Hours for ATTENDING the Gala! K-8 hours must be completed by March 30, 2019.

We need your help to make this year's Gala a success! If you would like to help us please email Nicole Slavik .

Donation Solicitations:
We need your help soliciting donations for our silent and live auctions! Letters with information as well as an Donation Request Form to provide to local businesses were distributed to parent files. The auction is such a fun portion of the night and proceeds go directly to benefit City Tree's Arts and Enrichment programs! Extra donation request forms are in the school office.

Classroom Donation Contest
Any donations you bring can be tallied in the Classroom Donation Contest! Tally boards are outside of the school office to track donations brought in. Make sure to come claim credit for your donations in the school office by Tuesday, February 26 to be eligible for the contest! Top selling class wins an ice cream party so get those donations in!!
Gift Basket Donations:
We need additional gift baskets for our Gala! Please consider putting together something special in a basket for our Gala. Each classroom is doing a class basket but we need even more gift baskets to auction off! Bring them to the school office, we will gladly take them. Contact  Tanya Castaneda or email Nicole Slavik with any questions.

Weekly Reminders:
Reminder About Labeling Your Child's Items:
Remember to label all lunch boxes, backpacks, jackets, sweaters, etc. brought to school! Every year, there are practically new jackets, sweaters, lunchboxes, and backpacks that are never claimed that could have been returned to their owner had they been labeled! Help your child remember daily to take home whatever he/she might have brought to school.
Preschool Announcements:
Operation No More Sickness!
It has been a difficult flu and cold season this year.  Please remember to NOT bring your child to school if they have had a fever, vomiting, or have thrown up within 24 hours of the school day.  If any of these symptoms appear during the school day we will call you to pick up your child and they will not be able to return the following day. In addition, we will not administer medicine for fever-prevention, as children with a fever need to be at home. Please see your parent handbook for our illness policy.

Thursday, February 14, K-8 Valentine's Day Special Dress:
K-8 students can celebrate Valentine's Day with special Valentine's dress! Students may wear:
  • Red clothing and/or pink clothing
  • Heart-decorated clothing
  • OR their school uniform
  • Remember: NO JEANS unless they are pink, red, or heart-decorated & students must wear their uniform pants, shorts or skirts with Valentine's shirts
Wednesday, February 14, Reminder About Middle School Valentine's Day Celebration and Goodies:
Middle School students will have an opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day with their friends on Thursday, February 14. Because this celebration will be with all 3 grades, we have asked students who choose to bring cards or goodies to:
-Bring enough for their whole grade OR bring enough for the whole middle school rather than select people
-Students are welcome to bring goodies, but if they do, please be sure they are pre-wrapped goodies in wrappers or bags that can be easily distributed (please no cupcakes, cookies, etc. that are not pre-wrapped).
Friday, March 30, Last Day to Complete K-8 Family Participation Hours:
The deadline to complete your K-8 Family Participation Hours is coming up! Reminders about how many hours your family has left to complete will be placed in parent files soon but you can always go on REN WEB and see how many hours you have logged in. Remember: The Gala is a GREAT opportunity to gain volunteer hours!! You can get hours by helping the PTO with any needs they have related to the event, OR gain 5 hours per person in your party for just ATTENDING the Gala! Contact the school office if you have any questions.
Congratulations to our Science Scholars!
We are pleased to congratulate several of our7th and 8th graders whose projects have been accepted into the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair! These students will represent our school at this county-wide science competition March 13-17. This is an honor and recognition for months of hard work! Saturday, March 9, Jazz Band Students, Save the Date
We are happy to announce that Jazz Band Students will be playing at the Gala again this year! This is a great performance opportunity for our students. More information on attire and schedule coming soon, but please mark your calendars. Jazz Band students will meet the Conference Center at Liberty Station at 5:00pm.
Monday, March 25 – Falcons Jazz Band Disneyland Trip
The City Tree Falcons Jazz Band will be visiting Disneyland to participate in a workshop on Monday, March 25! Our workshop this year is a choreography marching dance 101. This workshop emphasizes the importance of posture, performance, and group ensemble. Tentative Departure/Arrival Times – 6:00am-10:00pm. More details coming soon!
*Students who are not in jazz band are expected to attend school on March 25. This is a regular school day for grades 5-8 students who are NOT in jazz band.
Boys Basketball Uniforms

Last Friday our 5th-8th graders had a great day at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Students had the opportunity to role play in a realistic, interactive environment the military action taken on the island of Grenada in October of 1983. Our students become advisors to the President, top level military officials, members of the White House Press Corps, and even President Reagan!
