Ryan's Run Thank You!
We would like to thank our parent volunteers for helping us with this year’s jog-a-thon, now permanently named Ryan’s Run!

City Tree students ran with perseverance and joy; what a wonderful way to honor Ryan's memory. Thank you to parent volunteers for helping set-up, tally laps, distribute water and oranges, man the spray stations, and provide encouragement to students as they made their way around the course. Thank you also to everyone who donated orange slices, water, and spray bottles.

Certificates will go home soon via parent files that show how many laps your student ran. Special awards will also be presented in chapel, Friday, February 7 to our top lap runners.

You Spoke and We Heard You: Positive Changes Coming Next Month
We are excited to announce two new changes that will help make your life as a City Tree parent easier.

Continuous Enrollment
We heard that the process of completing enrollment paperwork for each child every year was tedious. With Continuous enrollment, you no longer have to fill out annual online enrollment packets! We're implementing a process that streamlines enrollment from year to year. Simply update your information in our system as needed, and notify us if you plan to withdraw your child. Otherwise, your child will remain enrolled at City Tree through completion of 8th grade.

FACTS Tuition Management
We heard that you wanted a simplified system for reviewing bills, making payments and getting tax information. The new Tuition Management system will provide all these things.

Parents will be able to set up their payment information in tuition management in late February and payments for the 2020/2021 school year.
Emails were sent out to parents this week with more details about Continuous Enrollment and Tuition Management. Next week you will receive an email with the full Continuous Enrollment Policy as well as the Continuous Enrollment Contract for everyone to sign. We will be on the ramp on several different days in the next few weeks to answer questions. If you have questions, please contact Sara Delgado.

Volunteer in Downtown San Diego: Saturday, February 8
Join members of the downtown community as we  serve various individuals in need. First Presbyterian Church of San Diego is hosting an event connecting volunteers with the opportunity to work with one of four local mission partners: San Diego Rescue Mission, Downtown Fellowship, Presbyterian Urban Ministries and Ladle Fellowship. Meet at First Presbyterian Church at 8:00am for orientation and prayer, then head off to one of the four locations, finishing up at noon. Children are welcome. Ask your friends and neighbors to join you!
Wednesday Morning Volunteer Needed
Please consider volunteering for 15-30 minutes on Wednesday mornings. We are looking for a volunteer to help monitor the playground from either 8:00-8:15am or 7:45-8:15am on Wednesdays. If you are interested in helping, please contact the school office.
Operation No More Sickness
It has been a difficult flu and cold season this year.    Please remember to NOT bring your child to school if they have had a fever, vomiting, or have thrown up within 24 hours of the school day.    If any of these symptoms appear during the school day we will call you to pick up your child and they will not be able to return the following day. In addition, we will not administer medicine for fever-prevention, as children with a fever need to be at home. Please see your parent handbook for our illness policy.

8th Grade Shadow Days:
As you are looking at high school options for your student, often they will offer the opportunity for 8th grade students to participate in shadow/visitation days. This can be a great way to get a "taste" of the high school experience, and get an inside look at different schools. Please be sure to check with your child's teachers ahead of time to determine which days work best for visitations, and notify the office when absences will occur. We will make every effort to work with you as you plan this important transition. Additionally, schools often ask for recommendations from current administrators/teachers. If your child's potential high school has such requirements, please send us the link and notify us that you did so, OR print the recommendation form and include a stamped, addressed envelope (or fax number) and leave it in the office for the appropriate staff member. Recommendations and records will be sent directly to the school in question.
