Parent Participation
Parents are an essential part of City Tree Christian School. Besides the critical support you give to the school when you help your child with homework and support your child's teacher, parent volunteers help City Tree run more smoothly. We wouldn't be able to do many extra things without your involvement. We can accomplish so much when we work as a team to further our children’s education. We realize that each family has varied schedules and talents therefore we have listed a variety of ways that you might volunteer . Please use the list below to make a commitment to help City Tree (Preschool and K-8th) and complete your Family Participation Program hours (K-8 th only).

Middle School
Middle School Google Classroom:

All middle school students have a google classroom account set up for them, and have logged on multiple times this week. Google Classroom will continue to be a hub for teacher to student communication in middle school. Beginning this coming weekend, students are required to visit their google classes each weekend, and record homework in their planners for the upcoming week. Additionally, we are asking ALL students to login with their PARENTS this coming weekend so that you also become familiar with this tool and use it to help your child stay on track with homework at home. For those who are returning, we have made a few small changes in the way class and homework is posted this year.

A Few FAQ's:
  1. What are my child's login credentials? - Your child has these and should be able to log in. Please ask him/her to share them with you and keep them in a safe place at home.
  2. What should my child do with Google classroom info? - We want the physical planner to be a real time, immediate tool for students. Students should visit google classroom on the weekends and homework for the upcoming week into their planners. However, planners should be updated regularly in class and used as the first resource to check due dates.
  3. Where is work posted? - Students need to visit each of their classes. In each class, click Assignments at the top, and then click on each posting for the week ahead to see details/instructions. Students should be copying down details from the "Homework" section of the post into their planners. (Please do not use the "Calendar" feature for recording homework. We have found the way the Calendar lists homework is confusing for students because it does not encourage them plan and complete work in advance.) Feel free to email Mrs. Henzel with any specific questions about Google Classroom use!
Middle School Request:
Middle School students often use headphones when studying with their Chromebooks. Teachers are asking that students bring an inexpensive headphone set with them. They should not be expensive, Bluetooth or full size headphones as things may go missing. If you have questions about this request please stop by the office.
Middle School 1st Quarter Supplementary Curriculum (beginning Tuesday, September 3):
  • Grades 6-8: CYT Theater Arts
City Tree Middle School Christian Youth Theater, Highlights from "Coco":
Each year, we partner with Christian Youth Theater during the 1st quarter of every year, and this year all middle school students are working together on "The Greatest Showman" to be presented Tuesday, November 5 at 4:00pm. Parts have been assigned and rehearsals are underway! Each student will receive a script with their lines. Students must keep these scripts in a safe place and bring them to rehearsals each week.
