MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL

During the City’s Organizational Session on January 5th, Councilmember Brandey Jenkins was sworn in to begin a new term of office, and Councilmember James Pullum was sworn in following his recent election to Council.

The Mayor, Council, and City staff congratulated both members and expressed appreciation for their dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of Adairsville. Their leadership and service will continue to be valuable assets as the City works toward its goals for the coming year.

During January’s City Council Work Session, the Mayor and Council proudly honored Angie Davis as Volunteer of the Year. Angie was recognized for her selfless commitment, generosity, and passion for helping others. Her dedication and willingness to serve make a meaningful difference in our community.

The Mayor and Council also presented Brett Jones with the Employee of the Year Award. We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service to the City of Adairsville. As Streets and Roads Supervisor, Brett consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of his role. His leadership, dedication, and strong work ethic are evident in everything he does.

Each year, the Mayor asks the City Manager to present the State of the City during the January Work Session. At this year’s meeting, Mrs. Madison delivered a report highlighting the City’s accomplishments over the past year. She recognized the addition of the new Pickleball Courts and Pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park and thanked Bartow County for its partnership in bringing the project to fruition. She also expressed appreciation to the Council for its vision in directing the development of the Earl Towe Community Center, which opened last year and has become a true gem for the City.

In closing, Ms. Madison thanked the Management Team and City staff for their hard work and dedication, emphasizing that it truly takes a team to make everything work. She also expressed gratitude to the Mayor and Council for their leadership and guidance and shared her confidence that 2026 will be another successful year for the City.

CITY NEWS

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORNER

Yard Debris, Leaf Collection & Neighborhood Safety Reminder

The City of Adairsville works hard to keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful—and we appreciate residents doing their part. Yard debris pickup is available every Monday (by designated zone) and includes tree limbs, branches, shrubs, and bagged leaves. Please place debris neatly at the curb prior to your scheduled pickup day. If a holiday falls on a Monday, collection will take place on the next business day. Click here for a map of designated zones.

Residents are encouraged to bag leaves and place them at the curb for collection rather than burning them. Within City limits, homes are closer together, making open burning a safety hazard. Burning leaves and yard debris can also negatively affect air quality and visibility. Bagging leaves is a safer, cleaner option that helps protect your neighbors and our environment.

We also ask residents to be mindful of items placed in or near the roadway. Portable basketball goals and hoops should be moved out of the street and returned to private property when not in use. Keeping streets clear helps prevent accidents and ensures safe passage for vehicles, pedestrians, and emergency services.

Thank you for helping keep Adairsville looking great. Small efforts like proper debris disposal and keeping roadways clear go a long way in maintaining the quality of life we all enjoy!
