JULY 2021 ALHAMBRA ANNOUNCEMENTS

Beginning July 1, 2021, residential customers will be invoiced by Republic Services for all solid waste and recycling services. If you are currently not enrolled to receive solid waste services through your water bill, please email Republic Services at Alhambra@republicservices.com or contact the Customer Service team at 800-299-4898.
Republic Services has started delivering new carts to residential customers. To view the delivery schedule, click here. Please continue to place your old carts out as usual until the new ones are delivered. Thank you for your patience and understanding as Republic Services work through the deliveries.
Once you've received the new bins, please use them as follows:
The new BLACK cart is for TRASH.
The new BLUE cart is for RECYCLING.
The new GREEN CART is for YARD WASTE and FOOD WASTE.

Please note, service will be delayed by one day the week of July 5th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Residential Utility Assistance Grant Program
|
This program offers a one-time grant up to $500 to pay delinquent water bills on a first come first served basis. Grant awards will only cover water charges for accounts that are 90 days or more past due. Payments will be applied to the applicant’s outstanding balance. Applicants are not expected to pay back this assistance.
Awards will be based on the availability of funding. Residents will need to submit an application and documentation proving eligibility. Applications are now available and must be received or postmarked by 5:00pm on July 29, 2021 to the Customer Service Center at 68 South First Street, Alhambra, CA 91801.

The Alhambra Police Department has zero tolerance for illegal fireworks. Please celebrate this 4th of July responsibly with fireworks labeled "Safe and Sane" ONLY. Fines for illegal fireworks are $1,000 each; repeat violators will be subject to multiple penalties.

July 4th Parking Relaxation
|
Overnight parking enforcement (2:00 to 6:00 AM), street sweeping, and city lot enforcement will be suspended beginning Sunday, July 4, 2021, through Monday, July 5, 2021. All parking personnel will resume regular enforcement on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 2:00 AM.

LA County Urges Masking Indoors
With more circulation of the highly transmissible Delta variant, the LA County Department of Public Health strongly recommend everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors in public places as a precaution. Per the CDC, the Delta variants are now responsible for 1 in 5 new cases across the country.

LA County Extends Eviction Moratorium

The LA County Eviction Moratorium has been extended through September 30, 2021 for residential tenants, commercial tenants, and mobilehome space renters!

Beginning July 1st, the City of Alhambra will stop using the Gateway App. While we find an alternative, please see information below on how to submit various issues to the City.

Joslyn Center Reopens
The Joslyn Center is back open. Seniors can come and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while socializing with friends. The building is open from 7am to 5:30pm Monday thru Friday. See below for the schedule for social programs and activities.
