Alhambra Partners With Pico Care Pharmacy and Living Fit Nation Offer COVID Vaccinations The City of Alhambra is partnering with Pico Care Pharmacy and Living Fit Nation to offer COVID-19 vaccinations for LA County residents 18 years of age and older at the Alhambra Civic Center Library on Monday, May 10th. No insurance information is required, as the vaccination is free of charge. Republic Services Delivers New Carts Republic Services will begin delivering new carts in Alhambra during the month of May: The new BLACK cart is for TRASH. The new BLUE cart is for RECYCLING. The new GREEN CART is for YARD WASTE and FOOD WASTE. • The old carts will be removed the same day. • Recycling, trash and green waste will continue to be collected on the same service day. Please place your carts curbside by 6 a.m. and at least 3 feet apart from other objects. • Residents will receive a free new kitchen pail to help transfer food scraps to the green cart. • Effective July 1, 2021, you will be invoiced directly by Republic Services. If you are currently not enrolled to receive solid waste services through your water bill, please email alhambra@republicservices.com or contact the Customer Service department at 800.299.4898. Advancing Alhambra is the City’s plan to improve local roads for residents by identifying specific locations for improvements, understanding the experience of area residents, and outlining potential solutions to alleviate pass-through traffic on local thoroughfares. For decades Alhambra has been dealing with traffic snarling up our street morning, noon and night. We think it’s time to take the wheel. Our goal is to bring relief to our roads and to you, and to advance Alhambra. We encourage you to participate every step of the way! CITY OF ALHAMBRA SPORTS CAMP Help your child to become a better basketball player by registering them for the Alhambra Summer Basketball Sports Camp for children 7 to 13 years old. Participants will gain more than just practice in ball-handling, dribbling, and defense. They will also learn important lessons about self-esteem, teamwork, and the value of hard work. Registration starts May 14th and will end July 3rd or until full. Space is limited. (Under the current guidelines from the L.A. County Health Department Sports Camp will take place outdoors at Almansor Park).
