Council Places Advisory Vote on Fireworks on the November General Election Ballot, Seeks Members for Pro and Con Committees

On August 5, 2019, the Arlington City Council voted to place an advisory vote regarding fireworks before the voters of the City of Arlington for the General Election in November 2019. The advisory vote would be non-binding and would ask the following question:

Should the City Council ban the possession, sale and discharge of all consumer fireworks within the City of Arlington?

No *

The City has the responsibility of appointing members to a committee that will write a statement supporting "yes" (pro) and a committee that will write a statement supporting "no" (con).

Committees are allowed to have up to (3) three members.
The City of Arlington is seeking volunteers to serve on either the pro or con committee for this advisory vote.

If you are interested in serving on a committee, please submit an email to  kbanfield@arlingtonwa.gov or call 360-403-3444 no later than 5 PM on Friday, August 9, 2019.

The "pro" and "con" statements must be submitted to the Snohomish County Auditor by 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Rebuttal statements in response to opposing committee statements are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
