Jake's House Church Volunteers Beautify Arlington
On Saturday, June 1, 2019, members of Jake's House Church participated in an event called "Beautify Arlington". The volunteers worked on seven projects around the city, including the entryway sign on 172nd Street NE, the Stillaguamish Senior Center, and the Stormwater Wetland Park. Said Pastor Nancy Johnson, "We had a blast! We love our city and are blessed to be a part of this wonderful community."

Thank you, Jake's House Church!

Mayor Tolbert Visits Eagle Creek Community Garden with Students
Students from Eagle Creek Elementary show Mayor Tolbert the Community Garden
Earlier this week, Mayor Tolbert visited the students at Eagle Creek Elementary to learn about their garden classroom.
Funded in part from a grant from the Arlington Education Foundation, the garden classroom is a story of inspiring collaboration.

Mayor Tolbert was thrilled to learn that the entire school plays a part in the garden's success, and that any of the product harvested, flowers and produce, are available in Eagle Creek's main office for the community to take home.

The garden classroom is actually two main garden spaces: a pollination garden with bee house posts and a peaceful fruit and vegetable garden with outdoor seating. The students learn different parts of the growing cycle, which are aligned with their science and social studies curriculum, with hands on lessons from the gardens. Thank you for the invitation to tour the garden and learn more about it!
Presidents Elementary Students Visit Arlington Community Garden

Presidents Elementary students recently visited the Arlington Community Garden and tended one of the beds that is set aside for education purposes with Arlington Public Schools. The students learned about the growing cycle and the work it takes to have a productive, bountiful garden space.
