Azusa Walks is a one-year effort to develop the City's first Pedestrian Master Plan. Azusa Walks will make the City safer, more comfortable, convenient, and accessible for pedestrians of all ages and abilities. Over the course of the year, the project team will conduct various activities that will seek community input.
Through the end of April, the Community is invited to take our online survey to help inform the plan. Future Community Online Meetings are being planned for June 2021.
The Community is invited to email photos to study@azusaca.gov or share images on Instagram by tagging @AzusaCity and using #AzusaWalks and to share their thoughts on how we can make Azusa more walkable for a chance to win an Azusa Walks Shirt!
For more information and to sign up for project updates visit Azusa Walks.

COMING SOON: NEW ORGANIC WASTE RECYCLING LAW
|
SB 1383 was signed into law in 2016 to reduce methane emissions created by organic waste, dairy, and livestock. The bill sets statewide targets to reduce organic waste sent to landfills by 75% and recover at least 20% of edible food thrown away by grocery stores, restaurants, and other large food generators by 2025. Beginning January 1, 2022, all residents and businesses will be required to recycle organic waste. This law will be implemented in the entire state, not just in the City of Azusa.
Look for more information on how you will play a part in the successful implementation of this organics recycling program in future communications. Stay tuned!

|
What is Organic Waste? Food waste, green waste, landscape & pruning waste, organic textiles & carpet, lumber, wood, paper products, printing & writing paper, manure, biosolids, digestate, and sludge.
