Know What's Happening In Ballwin
5 Things You Should Know
#1 Comprehensive Plan Update

Ballwin's Comprehensive Plan is nearing the end of its development. The planning firm recently concluded a visual preference survey to determine what community aesthetics residents liked the most and least. The results of this survey can be found on the plan's website.

Also the final open house as part of the planning process is scheduled for Thursday, November 29 from 5-7:30 p.m. at The Pointe. This is the final step in the planning process and the last opportunity for residents to make their voice heardWe strongly encourage residents to attend the open house in order to share their opinions about the recommendations the firm has before they present them to the Board of Aldermen.
#2 Ballwin Banners Return

The street lights on Manchester Road have (finally) returned! A new fall themed Ballwin banner hangs proudly on each pole thanks to the public works department installing them in the wee hours of the morning to avoid traffic.

As you know, the street lights were down for months after a structural defect was discovered and the manufacturer had to make new poles. But Ballwin is glad to share the banners are back (and more importantly the lights are too).
#3 America Recycles Day

November 15 is America Recycles Day. And as recycling conversations continue in the St. Louis region, Ballwin has been actively working to educate our residents about responsible recycling through articles, podcasts and social media posts.

Now Ballwin is getting involved with a new region-wide event. A number of organizations are teaming up to show us what we can be doing to keep our recycling services running smoothly. Consider stopping by or bringing a school group to learn more. Do your part, and recycle smart!

#4 Ballwin to be Featured on St. Louis & Me

This week Police Chief Kevin Scott sat down with a crew at Mike Martin Media to record an interview for St. Louis & Me. The show is a 30 minute public affairs broadcast that is played back on KNLC in St. Louis (channel 24). Currently it runs on Sunday mornings. His interview will air sometime in the next month or so. We'll keep you updated when his interview is scheduled so you can watch the show.
#5 Leaf Collection Schedule

Ballwin's Curbside Leaf Collection has officially started. This year, in order to help residents plan ahead, we've developed a master street list. Our crews will work down the list from top to bottom collecting leaves in the order the streets are listed. For more details on this new communication tool, please watch the video below.

Crew Leader Stephen jumped on the podcast this week to go into more detail about what he's seen in leaf season over the last 20 years in the Public Works Department. He also talks about his time serving in the Navy which is timely with the Veteran's Day holiday just around the corner. Listen to the full episode online or subscribe to the show wherever you listen to podcasts.
