CELEBRATING THE GRAND OPENINGS OF SPACE GRANTEES IN DECEMBER 2024

Last month, representatives from the Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion joined two new businesses, Russ and Mimi's in Roslindale and Blue Mountain Jamaican Restaurant in Mattapan, for their grand openings.

Both businesses are grant recipients of the Supporting Pandemic Affected Community Enterprises (SPACE) Grants, which help businesses with expenses related to new lease agreements.

RUSS & MIMI'S

16 Birch Street | Roslindale

OEOI staff joined the owner of Russ & Mimi’s, Kelly Walsh, for the ribbon cutting of the new neighborhood market in Roslindale on December 11, 2024. The market was founded on the idea of being a one-stop-shop for all culinary needs throughout the day: whether that be coffee to fuel the morning, a gourmet sandwich for lunch, or picking up grab and go items on the way home for dinner.

BLUE MOUNTAIN JAMAICAN RESTAURANT

1301 Blue Hill Ave | Mattapan

OEOI staff joined Blue Mountain Jamaican Restaurant owner Marcia Satchell on December 14, 2024 for the grand opening of their new location. Blue Mountain Jamaican Restaurant offers authentic Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, including jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, rice, and vegetarian and vegan options.

She explored Strasbourg's innovation ecosystem, connecting with representatives from BioValley France, Nextmed Strasbourg, and Kaleidoscoop, a co-working and collaborative startup space.
