SECOND ANNUAL CLIMATE TECH ON THE PLAZA SHOWCASES 40+ CLIMATE TECH COMPANIES ON CITY HALL PLAZA
Climate Tech on the Plaza returned to City Hall Plaza on Wednesday, April 30, led by the City of Boston, Alliance for Climate Transition, Downtown Boston Alliance, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and Schneider Electric. Dozens of companies, schools, and nonprofit organizations came together to demo the latest in climate action technology. In total, over 40 climate tech companies from Boston and beyond participated in the event.
Boston’s innovators are working to strengthen climate resilience and help boost clean energy in our city. We are proud to support the growth of Boston’s climate tech industry and celebrate our many partners already driving real change in our city and beyond.

MAYOR MICHELLE WU SIGNS A LETTER OF INTENT WITH MAYOR HARIS DOUKAS OF ATHENS, GREECE
On Friday, April 25, Mayor Michelle Wu and the City of Boston welcomed Mayor of Athens Haris Doukas to Boston City Hall. On behalf of Boston and Athens, Mayor Wu and Mayor Doukas signed a Letter of Intent, deepening the ties between Boston and Athens and promoting long-term collaboration across the arts, business, research, innovation, higher education, and tourism.
Mayor Wu and the City of Boston presented Mayor Doukas with a Revere Bowl, a symbol of Boston’s revolutionary roots. The inscription read, “To the People of Athens, Greece, in celebration of our shared democratic values, our enduring friendship, and our ongoing love of learning between both of our cities.”
We look forward to our continued collaboration and friendship with Athens!

OEOI HOSTS DELEGATION FROM LONDON AT BOSTON CITY HALL
On Wednesday, April 23, the Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, Mayor Michelle Wu’s Chief of Staff Tiffany Chu, and other City of Boston staff welcomed a delegation representing London, England including Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth for London, to Boston City Hall.
The visit focused on strengthening the collaboration between Boston and London in life sciences, innovation, and business growth, as well as discussing shared goals in sustainability and accessibility.

SUPPLIER DIVERSITY HOSTS SECOND WHITE STADIUM CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY FAIR AND ANNOUNCES WHITE STADIUM SUPPLIER DIVERSITY INITIATIVE DASHBOARD
The Department of Supplier Diversity hosted the second White Stadium Contracting Opportunity Fair on Tuesday, April 15 at Lena Park Community Center in partnership with the White Stadium Project Team and Boston Legacy Football Club.
Local contractors, small business owners, and entrepreneurs joined us to network and learn about upcoming contracting opportunities with the White Stadium project and the City of Boston. Kat Cutler, Policy and Compliance Manager for the Department of Supplier Diversity, presented on the new White Stadium Supplier Diversity Initiative Dashboard, which ensures the adequate participation of local, diverse, small businesses on this transformative project for White Stadium. The Departments of Supplier Diversity, Public Facilities, and Procurement developed this dashboard to provide additional transparency on efforts to achieve the stated goal of awarding 50% of contracts to minority- and women-owned businesses.

OEOI PARTNERING WITH OFFICE OF VETERAN SERVICES TO SUPPORT VETERAN BUSINESS OWNERS IN MAY
Throughout May, the Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion will host events and workshops aimed at supporting veteran business owners in Boston. Veterans can learn more about certifying their business with the City of Boston at Veteran-owned Business Certification Hours on Wednesday, May 21 with the Department of Supplier Diversity.
During the week of Memorial Day, veteran small business owners can learn more about the liquor license application process with the City of Boston Licensing Board at Veteran-owned Business Liquor License Office Hours on Wednesday, May 28 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Additionally, veteran small business owners can learn more about the support and resources offered by the City of Boston Office of Small Business at the Veteran Small Business Forum on Thursday, May 29 from 3 pm to 4 pm.

WHITE STADIUM CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY FAIR
May 20 | Grove Hall Library | 6 pm - 8 pm
Join the City of Boston, Boston Unity Soccer Partners, and the White Stadium Supplier Diversity Advisory Group for the second of four White Stadium Contracting Opportunity Fairs scheduled for this spring and summer. This fair will take place on Tuesday, May 20 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Grove Hall Library (41 Geneva Ave, Dorchester).
At these events, contractors will learn more about the the White Stadium project’s status, contract opportunities, timelines, and expectations.
