Meet Star, an eleven-month-old female Pit Bull Terrier mix. She is a sweet girl and likes other dogs. Star was returned to the shelter because the resident dog didn't like her and her owner was afraid she was going to be harmed. The previous owner stated she was a great dog and he hated having to return her. She has been spayed, housebroken and all her vaccines are complete. She is ready for her forever home and her adoption fee is only $20.00. Come meet her today at the Burleson Animal Shelter.
Stay safe this Thanksgiving
Did you know that Thanksgiving is the leading day of the year for home fires involving cooking equipment?

The Burleson Fire Department wants you to stay safe this year.

Here are some Thanksgiving safety tips:

  • Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stove top so you can keep an eye on the food.
  • If you are deep frying your turkey make sure it is completely thawed and dry before cooking and that the fryer is in an open area away from structures that could catch fire.
  • Keep children away from the stove and make sure all matches and utility lighters are out of their reach.
  • Make sure your smoke alarms are working. Test them by pushing the test button.
