The City of Camrose remains in Stage 2 of our Water Shortage Response Plan and water restrictions are still in effect.

With some recent lower temperatures, some rainfall, plus the ongoing conservation efforts of Camrose residents and businesses, the rate that the lake level has decreased appears to have slowed down. The long-range forecast isn’t currently showing extreme high temperatures and there are some showers in the forecast too. With those factors in mind, the City is hopeful that we will not need to move into Stage 3 of our Water Shortage Response Plan this year.

It is, however, likely that we will remain in Stage 2 unless we get a lot of unseasonably wet weather yet this fall. If this happens, this means that if we close out the year with a low lake level and we have little snowfall over the coming winter, we may need to enforce water restrictions earlier in 2025.

We continue to appreciate the efforts our community has been making to reduce outdoor water usage, as these actions will have a positive impact on our water supply now and in the future.
