A Skilled Workforce is Vital to
Pinal County’s Future!
Build Your Future Arizona campaign launched on October 16th, 2019. Its mission is to increase the awareness of job opportunities in construction to help address the 150,000 labor shortages in skilled trades that exist throughout Arizona. These careers can be started right after high school graduation. Often, students are paid during their training, thereby avoiding student loan debt that goes along with pursuing a four-year degree. Skilled trades men and women earn great salaries and enjoy a rewarding career in high-demand occupations.

CG Residents Give Feedback on Proposed General Plan Options
By : SUZANNE ADAMS-OCKRASSA, Dispatch Staff Writer

Armed with a series of land use definitions and maps of two different proposals from the general plan Technical Advisory Committee, residents at each table scribbled, sketched and sticky-noted their opinions, concerns and suggestions on the maps before reporting to the larger group.

The consensus among the 100 residents who attended the meeting at the Casa Grande Community Recreation Center was that the city would need greater variety in the types of housing, a greater density of housing near the downtown area to fill in empty lots and more space for commercial and industrial land and better designed gateways to the city to welcome visitors. The suggestions also left plenty of land open for rural and agricultural uses at the edge of the city. Read more ...
