SPECIAL EDITION:
City of Cedar Park moves into Stage 3 of Drought Contingency Plan

Due to hot and dry conditions and the rapidly decreasing water level in Lake Travis, the City of Cedar Park has moved into Stage 3 of the Drought Contingency Plan effective March 1, 2025. Cedar Park’s Stage 3 limits outdoor watering to one-day per week.

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2025. ENFORCEMENT BEGINS MARCH 31, 2025.

Moving to Stage 3 is implemented when the combined storage of Lakes Travis and Buchanan is below 1.1 million acre-feet and the prior three months of inflows are less than the 25th percentile of historic inflows for that three-month period. In Stage 3, the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), manager of the water supply, calls for a 20% reduction in overall water consumption.
