CHINO, CA (November 18, 2024) -- On Saturday, November 16, the City of Chino and the Chino Valley Historical Society celebrated the grand re-opening of the Old Schoolhouse Museum, complete with a new barn that showcases Chino’s history like never before.
The new Barn includes an exhibit gallery that will house historic farm equipment for the community to view. Renovations include site enhancements, drought tolerant landscaping, walkway lighting, and parking lot improvements.
“The new display barn is a wonderful addition to our community, offering everyone the opportunity to explore the rich agricultural history of Chino,” said Chino Mayor Eunice Ulloa. “This facility not only preserves our storied heritage but also will serve as an educational resource for generations to come. I encourage everyone to visit the museum and learn more about Chino’s legacy.”
Built as Chino’s first schoolhouse in 1888, the Old Schoolhouse Museum currently serves as a historical landmark, displaying photos and local artifacts from Chino’s early days. The barn will be open for group tours, school field trips, and educational demonstrations for patrons looking to catch a glimpse into Chino’s proud agricultural history.
The Old Schoolhouse Museum will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
