CHINO, CA (April 15, 2026) -- Mayor Eunice Ulloa and the Chino City Council celebrated the City’s many achievements over the past year during the 2026 State of the City Address, held Tuesday, April 14, at the Chaffey College Chino Community Center. 

The theme for this year’s address, “Always Home,” spotlighted Chino’s growth and vibrancy while staying true to its community roots.  

“We have accomplished so much together in the past year,” said Mayor Eunice Ulloa. “We’ve welcomed new businesses, opened beautiful new parks, advanced exciting developments, and delivered world-class community events. Yet amid all this progress, Chino has never lost the sense of home we all know and love. I want to thank our City staff and my fellow community members for their role in making Chino such a wonderful place to live.” 

Key highlights from this year’s address included the creation of the Measure V Report Card; the Chino Police Department’s incoming Bell 505 police helicopter, which was funded in part by a $1 million grant from San Bernardino County Supervisor Curt Hagman; continued reductions in crime, the Slurry and Pavement Improvement Project, the opening of numerous local businesses; and the opening of two parks—Chino Rancho Park, funded in part through $1 million in ARPA funds from Supervisor Hagman, and Stueve Family Park.

The City also shared an exciting glimpse into Chino’s future, including the Elevate Euclid bridge project and the incoming LAB at Chino, an innovative space dedicated to transforming entrepreneurship and business development in Chino that has been made possible through $2 million in federal funding from Congresswoman Norma Torres.

The State of the City also welcomed Los Angeles Dodgers legend Orel Hershiser, who appeared at the event to formally announce his partnership with Chino legacy business M.K. Smith Chevrolet and the renaming of the dealership to Orel Hershiser Chevrolet. 

The Spirit of Achievement Award, presented annually to community members who have made a lasting impact, was awarded to Dale and Sandra Sue Bright. The 2025 Businesses of the Year were Royalty Cakes and B&B Lock & Security, while the Home Beautification of the Year Award was presented to Paul and Karen Larson.
